We are building a green reputation

The UK has Branson, the US has Trump, and China has Mr Wang Shi, widely recognized as the “Godfather of the Chinese real estate industry”, the founder and Chairman of Vanke Group (the largest property developer in China) was one of 150 leading Chinese building industry visitors at FRAMECAD Solutions’ Research and Development facility in Auckland, New Zealand.

Mr Wang Shi was in NZ for the first International Sustainable Cities Forum held in March this year. The Forum is an initiative that brings together government and corporate leaders from New Zealand and China to explore the challenges and opportunities of building sustainable cities. As one of the key sponsors of the event, FRAMECAD CEO, Mark Taylor, presented FRAMECAD’s innovative building technology and demonstrated how it is integral to sustainable building development.

FRAMECAD was founded and is headquartered in New Zealand. New Zealanders cherish nature and the environment. FRAMECAD focus is on utilising building materials that reduce harm to the environment and protect the people living and working with them. At the heart of FRAMECAD’s offer is cold formed steel which according to Mark Taylor is the ideal building material “60% of all landfill is construction waste, but steel makes up only 1% of this, this is because steel is 100% recyclable”. Cold formed steel is also stronger, lighter and safer than traditional materials such as cement and bricks making it the ideal option in areas prone to earthquakes and cyclones.

Feedback from Wang Shi and the delegates were extremely positive, with Wang Shi impressed with the technology on show, stating that he felt it embraced his goal to “reduce the use of timber in his developments”. Mr Wang Shi and the delegation were keen to develop opportunities for cooperation between China and New Zealand and FRAMECAD was seen as a company well worth developing business with.

For FRAMECAD the opportunity was a huge success. It was an unprecedented opportunity to forge close bonds with key influencers within the Chinese building industry and regional government, and to take FRAMECAD’s world leading technology to the Chinese market.
